PAYNESVILLE – StarBet Liberia has signed a landmark sponsorship agreement with Paynesville Football Club (Paynesville FC), reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment, sports development, and corporate social responsibility.

The agreement was signed at Paynesville City Hall in the presence of Paynesville City Mayor Robert L. Bestman, City Manager J. Masiwe Binda, Communications Director Jeremiah Dijon, Paynesville FC President Hilary P. Sackie, and StarBet Liberia Country Manager Brian Nkuru.

Speaking at the ceremony, Paynesville FC President Hilary Sackie described the partnership as a historic milestone for the club, noting that after years of seeking closer collaboration with the city, the current administration officially embraced Paynesville FC as the city’s football team. He praised Mayor Bestman for providing consistent institutional and financial support and said months of discussions with StarBet culminated in an agreement that will strengthen the club’s operations.

“This is only the beginning,” Sackie said, expressing confidence that the partnership will continue to grow.

StarBet Country Manager Brian Nkuru said the company sees sports as a powerful tool for community transformation and youth development. He stressed that football promotes discipline, teamwork, leadership, and unity while creating opportunities for young people.

“Whenever Paynesville FC plays, people across the city unite behind one team. That sense of unity is exactly what we believe in as a company,” Nkuru said, adding that the sponsorship marks the beginning of StarBet’s broader corporate social responsibility initiatives in Liberia.

Mayor Robert Bestman welcomed the investment, describing it as a vote of confidence in Paynesville and its residents. He urged other businesses to invest in community development through sports and announced that companies supporting Paynesville FC would receive promotional support from the city, including free advertising opportunities within the municipality.

“As long as you continue supporting our football team, the city will support your business,” the Mayor declared.
